DAY 01.
DEPARTURE: MONDAY, WASHINGTON/BALTIMORE- USA. Your destiny with
Africa begins today as you board your transatlantic flight.
Depart on a
wide-body jetliner from Baltimore/Washington. NOTE: For security
reasons, check-In counter opens 5 hours before departure and closes
2 hours before take off. You are allowed to check-in 2 pieces of
luggage free, each weighing 70lbs or less, and 1 carry-on WEIGHING
12lbs or less. Please remember your passports, and any visas
required. We provide free visa service, however visa fees
charged by Embassies must accompany visa applications plus required
recent passport photos and a valid passport. ADD ON FARES ARE
AVAILABLE FROM MAJOR US CITIES.

DAY 02. TUESDAY,
- CAPE TOWN: SOUTH AFRICA:
Arrive in Cape
Town at 11:55am. Check into your Hotel. Afternoon Cape Town City
tour. The tour includes visits to the South African Museum, the
Malay Quarter and the harbor. Walk thru the Castle and Green-market
Square flea-market before driving up signal hill and through sea
point. Return to the hotel. 5:00pm for Orientation/Welcome Dinner.
Overnight.
DAY 03.
WEDNESDAY, - CAPE TOWN/ TOWNSHIP EXPERIENCE:
Breakfast at
leisure and depart for a Township tour. The Townships and informal
settlements are areas around Cape Town that is predominantly black
and are normally not promoted as mainstream tourism locations in
South Africa. But a venture to townships like Guguletu and
Khayelitsha reveals communities that are vibrant, cheerful and very
lively. We shall visit and interact with the dwellers and the
indigenous natives, shop at the craft markets, watch cultural
displays and eat lunch with them. A selected Township Youth Choir
will treat us to fabulous tunes and lyrics. Return to the hotel
early evening. Dinner. Overnight.
DAY 04.
THURSDAY, CAPE TOWN/ROBBEN ISLAND:
Breakfast at
leisure. Afternoon transfer to the harbor for an exciting speed boat
ride to Robben Island where Mandela spent eighteen of his twenty
years in prison. Visit Mandela’s actual jail-cell and walk through
the compounds and corridors of the prison many refer to as the
“alcatraz” of Africa. The tour guides are all ex-prisoners of the
island. The vivid descriptions of their experiences would bring
tears to even the toughest person in the group. Transfer to the
hotel after this emotional tour. Dinner. Return to the hotel in
Cape Town. Overnight.
DAY 05. FRIDAY,
CAPE TOWN/CAPE OF GOOD HOPE:
Breakfast at
leisure and depart for the Cape Point Tour. We shall travel along
the scenic coast to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. A short
walk will take us to the scenic hillcrest where we have the
opportunity to view the two oceans meeting as one. The Cape is
Africa’s southern-most point. Depart the nature reserve at noon and
continue our adventure with a visit to one of the largest penguin
colonies in the world. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Prepare for next
day trip
to Johannesburg. Overnight.
DAY 06.
SATURDAY, - CAPE TOWN/JOHANNESBURG:
Breakfast at
leisure. Rest of the morning is for rest and relaxation. Last minute
shopping, finish parking your bags or whatever meets your desire.
After checking out, we shall transfer to the airport at 1:00pm for
our flight to Johannesburg. Flight SA-346 departs at 3:10pm
Johannesburg and arrives in Johannesburg at 5:10pm. Transfer to our
hotel. Dinner. Overnight.
DAY 7. SUNDAY,:
JOHANNESBURG/SOWETO/PRETORIA/LASEDI
VILLAGE: Morning departure for tour of Historic Soweto. Walk the
streets where apartheid reined terror on the blacks of South Africa.
Visit the humble early home of Nelson Mandela (which is now a
museum) and the current homes of Winnie Mandela and Bishop
Desmond Tutu. Most who ventured into Soweto came back enlightened,
sometimes angered, but always fascinated by the glimpse of this face
of South Africa. Continue with a drive through Johannesburg
and visit. Johannesburg city tour includes the historical buildings
downtown, the stock market, De Beers and the current house of
Nelson Mandela. Visit of Pretoria City sights will include
Voortrekker Monument, Kruger House, Church Square, the City Hall,
State Theatre/Opera House and the Union Buildings. After lunch (not
included), we continue to Lasedi; a colorful KwaKhayalhle
Ndebele Cultural Village. You will be met by members of the
various cultural groups of South Africa: the Northern Pedi, Zulu,
Southern Sotho and Xhosa: this is the Rainbow Nation of today’s
South Africa. Once seated, you will be exposed to a multi lingual,
multi visual orientation depicting the history of South Africa and
the background to Lesedi. Enjoy the grand traditional dance
demonstrations which would be performed by the various tribes before
our departure back to Johannesburg. Return to our hotel. Dinner.
Overnight.
DAY 08. MONDAY -
JOHANNESBURG: FREE DAY. REST OR GO ON SHOPPING SPREE.
Prepare for
the next day trip to Mpumalanga/Kruger National Park. Overnight.
DAY 09. TUESDAY
- JOHANNESBURG/MPUMALANGA/KRUGER NATIONAL PARK:
Early breakfast
and depart for the world famous Kruger National Park. Established in
1898, Kruger is without a doubt the largest safari game park in the
world and unrivalled in the diversity of its animal life. Arrive in
Mpumalanga and check into your hotel. Dinner. Overnight
DAY 10.
WEDNESDAY - MPUMALANGA: Depart hotel at 4:00am with packed
breakfast for Kruger National Park.
Spend the day
watching a variety of wild animals including the “big eight” in
their natural habitat. Late afternoon
Shopping, on our
way from the game viewing. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight.
DAY 11. THURSDAY
- MPUMALANGA/JOHANNESBURG:
Breakfast.
Check-out of the hotel and depart for Johannesburg. Arrive early
evening and check into our hotel. Dinner. Prepare for the next day
trip back to the “Good Old US of A.” Dinner.
Overnight
DAY 12. FRIDAY
- JOHANNESBURG/APARTHEID MUSEUM/USA.
Breakfast at
leisure. Check out of the hotel. Morning departure to visit the
newly dedicated Apartheid Museum where you will see for yourselves
in vivid colorful illustrations, the evils of an era gone past
displayed in still photographs and motion pictures. After the tour
of the museum, we shall transfer to Johannesburg international
airport for check-in. Your flight departs Johannesburg early
evening.
DAY 13.
SATURDAY- WASHINGTON/BALTIMORE/USA:
Arrive in
Baltimore/Washington late afternoon. Connect to your domestic
flights, if any. You are back Home. You’ve been to Africa……you
will never be the same again……keep dreaming about your next
experience in the mother continent. We hope we have served you well.
